Healthy tips for a Happy life :)



·        A glass of water:
Starting your day with a full glass of water will help you in numerous numbers of ways.


·        Never quit breakfast:
Have a healthy nutritious breakfast! (Avoid fast food and do it yourself) add fruits and greens to your food; have it with a hot drink like black or milk coffee.


·        Reduce on the starch:
Starch contains of heavy carbohydrates which will increase your cholesterol level and specially your sugar level when consumed a lot on a daily basis. If you are in control then it wouldn't be much of a problem. Instead have salads and even yogurts and nuts are very good for your body.


·        After your meal:
Drink water 15 – 20 minutes later after your meal. It gives some time for the food to digest.


·        Do not stop eating meat:
It’s okay if you are a vegan, but eating meat helps you to keep your body warm and it gives extra strength.


·        Light dinner:
End of the day your body will be tired even if you feel it or not, so it takes more time to digest the food you eat during dinner. That’s why it’s told to have a light meal during night times.


·        Instead of frizzy drinks.
Green tea or lime juice/lemon juice is just perfect to have when you are thirsty and craving for something sweet but, you are on a diet control. It helps you to not only burn some of your calories but, also reduce your cravings.




·        Time for exercise anyone?
Waking up in the morning just to do exercise is sometimes just too hard; but, it’s easy to fit in sometime to dance. You don’t have to be a pro in dancing all you have to know is to move your body to the beat.

·        Bites
Instead of bites which are unhealthy, you can replace them with nuts and cucumber. This replacement is worth it! It’ll keep you hydrated and also keep you fresh.




·        Brush your teeth twice.
You believe it or not the truth is the most number of bacteria are found in our mouth. We need to brush our teeth twice a day or more, because these bacteria can cause major diseases by reacting to the remaining food in our mouth.

10 simple ways to be HAPPY :D

It's not that I'am perfect, rich and a happy person; i'm still learning and i have more to correct within me. But, I always try to make my self happy by doing little little thinks that would keep me moving on with a satisfaction.
I've jotted down some Tips on Simple ways you could be HAPPY :) so here we go let's get started.


  1. Believe in God - you can be from any religion or ethnicity but, i strongly believe that the faith in our God; it is the first key for a happy and a positive life. Every religion teaches us how to live an simple lifestyle which leads for a everlasting happiness. 
  2. Be your own BFF - Love yourself & believe in yourself. Have some time (may be more) on your own, listen to music you like be calm. Dance around at home if u think there are people at home use the WASHROOM!!! perfect!!! go ahead (please don't slip and break you bones :P ) 
  3. List down what makes you HAPPY - okay sit down and write 10 things that make you happy. Fit in those ten things in between your busy schedule.. Pamper your self first :) because you busy schedules won't work if 'YOU' are not FIT! 
  4. Giggle, Laugh, Smile or Chuckle - Smiling releases serotonin in the brain (god know what that is) anyway.. it immediately gives your brain a mood lift. spend time with people who can make you smile and where you can have a good time. 
  5. Eat Light and Right - We Sri Lankans rarely get berries at the markets it's either not available or expensive. but, it's not a must to have berries in our meal. But, we do get fresh vegetables other inexpensive stuff. Instead of dropping by at a fast food outlets drop by at the nearby food city or Arpico get some yogurt, apples, cucumbers and even nuts. it'l help you to build a healthy life :) 
  6. Stop Moaning - If you just STOP and think for a while.. you will realize what a lucky person are you; because if you are reading this that means you have more than the 3 basic needs;( water/food, clothes and shelter.) you have a PC or phone or some electronic device and internet (damn you are blessed enough stop moaning) 
  7. Live "ANCIENT" for a day - Turn off TV, Computer, any electronic device, put away your phone. have an "Technology free" day.. spend some time  with family,relatives, friends, play with your pet(s), say hi to your neighbor and have a little chat. write a letter to someone.. "Too much of Technology can make life very easy  but, it will never give you a simple happy life"  
  8. Enjoy Nature - Get to the waters >>> If you in an island like Sri Lanka, you have another reason to be happy! The beauty itself can calm you down. Go to the beach and walk along the banks with bare feet.. Thank god each time a wave hits your legs.. :) if in the centrals go to a stream or  lake and wet your feet.. enjoy nature and build happiness :)
  9. Give & Get - This tip personally has gained me a lot of Happiness.. You don't have to be rich/ wealthy to give you can give what you have to someone in need. It will be the most expensive gift they would have received from you.. The genuine happy smile you see on their face with a humble Thank you would make you  Happy too.
  10. Don't take things Personally -  Do people Judge you? do they blame you for everything? may be they almost hate you.. and you haven't done anything wrong? HEY! HEY! STOP WORRYING! don't bother at all.. i'm telling you! your haters know that you are capable of something Great.. they know you can make a change.. so they just don't want you to do that and be successful.. Take criticism as a challenge/task and keep moving forward proving that they are wrong and nothing can let you down AND NEVER GIVE UP!
